I finally had my “oh shit”moment with AI a few days ago. I wanted to see if chatGPT could help me diagnose/fix my laptop. I opened it up and sent pictures and it started identifying part     See More otherboard, telling me what different wires and components were, giving me information from the user manual for my model, and labeling specific things on the pictures to show me where they were located.

It walked me through the whole process and showed me how to disconnect the keyboard and locate and press the jump pads with a pair of tweezers to test the power. We narrowed it down to a few causes and it came up with a plan for me to get the parts I needed. I know nothing about computers lmao.

The best part was how much I actually learned along the way. I did actually Google fact check it at each step and it was super accurate. I knew AI was a game changer but I’m blown away. It would have taken me hours to look up all that info and figure out all those tests and I did it in 20 minutes.

I think the big thing was getting contextual knowledge through natural conversation. Usually with stuff like that I don’t even know which questions to Google or how to even find the info because what I need is so specific    See Less
