LLMs don't have intelligence, LeCun's claim is specifically about LLMs "learning" the physical properties between the table and the object (so that it might use that understanding to answer questions about unfamiliar situations), ChatGPT-3.5 isn't deducing the answer using any understanding of physics the same way you or I would, its 'understanding' can only be summarised as "it knows the right order to put the words in", because it's been fed enough content about that subject that it can regurgitate an answer which happens to look correct.    See Less
