These comments are familiar and... tired. So many of you are claiming this generation of AI is a step backward. Ok maybe, but there's going to be another update that is better. Do     See More this is it? You think progress has an end goal? It doesn't. AI will continue to improve in every way there is.

Then there's those feeling angry or depresssed because they think we're heading to a terrible dystopia, where disconnected humans with no real meaning in their lives just waste away.

That's not what's happening. There is no force on earth more powerful or persistent than human nature. AI can't and won't change that.

Humans crave connections with other humans. Even those who like to think of themselves as loners need that link. And ultimately - unless AI truly becomes self aware and embodied with full sensory connections - it won't be enough for most.

This is just another swing of the pendulum, like the millions before it. Humans swing toward democracy then autocracy. From faith to secularism, from outrageous to familiar and comfortable.

The human race has been doing this since the dawn of humans. And individuals do the same thing.

On one side we have doomers, who think this all ends in death, despair and enslavement.

On the other we have utopians who think our future will be free from war or famine, and everyone will be happy.

The truth is that it won't be either. It'll just be different.

The older fear it will fundamentally change us into unfeeling, unhappy and miserable people. And while it's true many younger people are getting pulled in that direction, it won't last because it never does.

The older you get the more clear all of this becomes. It's a truth that only comes from experience. That's not a swipe against younger people, it's just a fact of existence that time adds to our experiences and knowledge. There's plenty of exceptions though. Lord knows there are a ton of very ignorant, shallow and indifferent older people. And there are plenty of younger people that soak up knowledge and are smart enough to learn from other's experiences.

This is a cycle with huge negative impacts on society as a whole, and on individuals of every generation. And it's happening globally.
